Frederic's Pick
The IWC Portugese was developed because of a customer in Portugal in the late 1930s who wanted a wristwatch with the same size and accuracy as a pocketwatch. IWC complied with this request and the Portugese was born. The current watch here is a direct descendant line of Portuguese models. Over the years IWC has made many variations of the legendary model. This Portuguese Chronograph features split seconds chronograph and a platinum case. The reference 3712-005 was made in a limited edition of 250 pieces and this one is number 62. This watch is a sleeper because from a distance it looks like a stainless steel chronograph, but when you hold it and examine it further you realize that it is actually platinum and has one of the most complicated movements, a split-second chronograph. This watch is great for the person who likes understated elegance.
