Lot Essay

The reference 2446C was launched in 1968. The “C” designation stands for compression case, which all had snap on case backs. They were designed to improve the water-resistance and featured a larger case than its predecessors. The case is furthermore of larger size compared to its screw-back peers with thick and distinctive lugs. The present watch features a minute/hours bezel variation. It is interesting to note that the case numbering C 2839-3 indicates that this chronograph was made for the Swiss market.
