The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The case shows signs of wear with scratches and small nicks and has been lightly polished. The hallmarks are visible to the outside of the lugs at 5 and 11 o'clock. The crown is a replacement. The back of the lugs show signs of wear and the back of the 5 o'clock lug has hand-engraved numbers. The case back has scratches and show signs of being opened. There is an engraving to the case back that reads, "For 50 years of meritorious service, P.E. Coquillette, the Merchants National Bank, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 1960." The dial shows signs of age and appears to be original. There is a small blemish between the 11 and 12 o'clock markers and 4 and 5 o'clock markers and signs of moisture damage around the edge of the left-side of the dial with some varnish loss. There are drag marks around the base of the sub-seconds dial. The hour hand has some scratches and the minute hand is a replacement. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
