Lot Essay

Rolex debuted the Datejust in 1954 and it still remains a cornerstone in the modern Rolex collection. Rolex has made many different variations of this model over the years. The present example is an interesting variation featuring a "zebra" motif. The case is 18k white gold, the dial is black with diamonds in a stripe formation with diamond hour markers, the bezel has black sapphires on the front with diamonds around the edge, the end links have diamonds set in them, and the rubber strap has five diamonds set on each side (10 total).
