Longines created the reference in 1969 as part of the Longines Conquest watch collection. Launched in 1954, Conquest was the first collection of the Longines brand to receive a designated name and was met with an immediate success. Over the years, this collection expanded into various models. Today, Conquest remains a key collection of Longines' product range.

The case is in good condition with light scratches. The case appears to be unpolished. There is a small, deeper scratch near the top chronograph pusher. There are small nicks around the bezel. There are small nicks on some of the lugs. The stamped case number is visible on the case back. The dial and and hands are in excellent condition and appear to be original. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
