Lot Essay

The present piece is distinguished by the presence of its original box and guarantee, the excellent condition of preservation, and the highly sought-after “Astrua Torino” signature indicating the watch was original sold by the prestigious Turin retailer. An understated classic by Patek Philippe, it fully embodies the style of the 1940s, with an ample and highly legible dial and a simple yet extremely elegant case design. While indeed very utilitarian, Patek Philippe DNA is present in the subtle details, such as the two tiny steps noticeable on the case back. Such a delicate detail, which emphasizes the care and dedication these objects were realized with, would be lost with just a few polishing sessions. Fortunately, this is not the case for this timepiece.
