Lot Essay
Reference 6034 is the successor to reference 4537, and was in production during the 1950s and early 1960s. The majority of the production was cased in stainless steel, with a small amount cased in yellow gold and pink gold.
The present watch, a Christmas gift in the mid-1950’s, is a prime example of a Rolex that was worn and loved by its owner until it was passed on to his son. Having been with only one family since it’s production, this rare watch is ready for its next chapter with an owner who will continue to wear and appreciate its beauty.

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The case shows signs of wear throughout, some light scratches in the band and on the case back. The engraving on the case back “John J. Killea, Dec. 25, 1955” is a little worn but still clear and the hallmarks on the back of the lugs are crisp. The case number between the lugs has been polished away and 4 digits scratched in its place. The ref number between the lugs is rubbed but still mostly visible in light. The dial and hands appear to be original, and remain in good condition, the hour hand with a small scratch. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloguing, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
