Lot Essay

The first Heuer chronographs are dated from around 1880 and the present example is circa 1930 and can be considered a very early version of the wrist chronograph by Heuer. This watch has the typical sports design for the period. It features a two-tone silvered dial with Breguet numerals, "squashed" logo, telemeter and tachymeter scales in blue text. The two registers are engine turned adding more texture to the dial. At the time this was meant for a mans wrist but today it would be appropriate for a man or ladies wrist.
