Lot Essay

One of the most desirable and interesting Jaeger-LeCoultre watches are the vintage Polaris dive watches. This model features a mechanical alarm and internal rotating bezel specifically meant to help divers time their dives. The innovative mechanical alarm system consists of a triple case back to optimize the transmission of sound through the water. The present example is special because it was made in 1967. The inside of the case back is stamped, "6 - 67" indicating it is from June 1967 and very few of these were made that year. The overall originality and condition makes this example highly sought after by collectors.
