Lot Essay
OMEGA produced the reference 145.012 from circa 1967 to 1969. This reference became a part of NASA's inventory of Speedmasters as basic equipment for the Astronauts. This reference with the legendary caliber 321 movement was worn in space for several NASA missions. This particular example has "SP" engraved inside the case back indicating it has "Special Pushers." OMEGA made these special pushers more robust and were supposed to have greater water resistance. This watch features the rare "Dot over 90" or "DON" bezel. The OMEGA Speedmaster remains one of the most iconic and legendary watches produced and models with the caliber 321 and "Dot over 90" bezel are highly sought after.
According to the Archives of OMEGA the present watch was manufactured on April 3, 1968 and delivered to Hong Kong.
