Lot Essay
Vacheron Constantin's chronographs from the first half of the past century can be considered among the most attractive and well-constructed chronographs of the time. To find an example in pink gold is remarkable, and this specific example has a pink dial and pink bracelet giving this watch a beautiful aesthetic. The pink dial has developed a patina giving it a brownish hue adding to the overall attractiveness of the watch.
The reference 4072 is one of Vacheron Constantin's most popular chronograph models and was in production from 1938 through the early 1970s. This model exists with either oval or rectangular chronograph pushers and either a flat or beveled bezel. The present example has the more common rectangular pushers and beveled bezel.
