The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The case is in good condition with normal signs of wear including scratches and small nicks. The case appears to have been lightly polished, but is sharp. There are numbers hand-engraved to the outside of the lug at 1 o'clock. The back of the 5 and 7 o'clock lugs have hand-engraved numbers. The back of the lugs have scratches. The case back is in good condition with scratches and evidence of being opened. The inside of the case back has watchmaker's marks. The bezel insert has scratches and the luminous triangle has lost its lume. The dial and hands are in good condition and appear to be original. The dial has developed a light patina and there is slight yellowing in the sub-registers. The luminous hour markers have darkened completely at 3, 4, 5, 7 and 9 o'clock. The 8 o'clock marker is partially darkened. The rest of the markers have darkened with age to a dark yellow. The hands have developed patina and the luminous material in them has darkened to a light brown with age. The movement is stamped 'WOG' for the Breitling import code. The chronograph function is working at the time of cataloguing, but could use a service. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
