The case has light scratches throughout. The case and lugs have been previously polished. The numbers are visible between the lug, but the serial number has a scratch through it that is slightly obscuring. The back of the lugs have scratches and some small nicks. The case back has been lightly polished. The crown appears to be original, but is in two pieces. When unscrewed, only the top part of the crown comes away from the base. It is functional at the time of cataloguing. The bezel is a later replacement and has faded to a blue color. The bezel is missing its pip. The dial has developed patina throughout and appears to be original. The dial appears to be partially relumed.
The end links are marked '80' and the bracelet '7206.' The bracelet is stamped 'GF' indicating its manufacture by Gay Freres and the bracelet is also marked '3,66.' The bracelet is a later replacement. The bracelet has scratches throughout, stretch, and appears to have been polished. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
The inside of the case back is stamped '6538,' and 'III.57' indicating its production in the third quarter of 1957. The inside of the case back has watchmaker's marks. The movement has been swapped at one point. It should be a caliber 1030, but it is a 1530.
