Lot Essay

An excellent and very well preserved example of Omega’s military waterproof wristwatch made for the British Government with special luminous dial and case with fixed strap lugs, the screw back engraved with the British broad arrow military issue mark. Interestingly this particular watch was destined for the Malayan armed forces, Malaya being under British colonial rule until 1957.

The caliber 30 T2 movements fitted into the military issue watches of reference CK 2444 were specially adjusted in four positions to within ten seconds per day, the same as a chronometer.

This reference is illustrated and discussed in: Omega – A Journey Through Time, Marco Richon, p. 236.
