The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The case shows signs of wear, commensurate with its age and has developed a light patina throughout. The case has been polished and there is a deeper scratch to the side of the case at 4 o’clock. The backs of the lugs show signs of wear and the case back has scratches with several small dings. The inside case back has watchmaker’s marks. The dial is corroded and has taken on a very interesting appearance that can only be described as vein-like. The hour markers and hands have developed patina and the hands have light scratches. The crystal shows signs of age around its edges and has a small chip at 11 o’clock. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
