The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The case is in good condition with normal signs of wear, commensurate with the age of the watch. The case has been lightly polished and the hallmark is visible to the bow. The case back has an engraving with the initials, "JCS." The inside case back has watchmaker's marks. The dust cover has an engraving that reads, "John C. Small Jr. June 16, 1912. From Percival B. Rolfe." There is also an engraving around the outer edge that indicates this watch was made for "Carter Bros Co." of Portland, ME. The inside dust cover has watchmaker's marks and appears to have a polished area. The case, movement, and dial are signed Patek Philippe. The movement is also signed Carter Bros Co. The dial is in good condition with no visible cracks. The hands are in good condition and have developed a light patina. The crystal has some scratches. The case back number does not match the archives of Patek Philippe and thus, an Extract from the Archives cannot be issued. The escapement is completely disengaged and the watch is not working at the time of cataloguing. A complete service is required.
