Lot Essay

Patek Philippe produced the reference 2449 from 1948 until circa 1953. The early examples before 1950 feature the caliber 12-120 and from 1950 forward this model used the caliber 12-400. The cases for this reference were made in one piece where the case back only snaps out. The dials were made by Stern Freres with applied indexes and "glaive" hands. The present example has "HOX" on the movement indicating it was made for the American market.
