Lot Essay

Patek Philippe launched the reference 3401 in 1958 until circa 1964, as it was still listed in the catalog. This model is only known in platinum and Patek Philippe made approximately less than 200 examples total. This watch was advertized as a men's Calatrava when it came out, but due to the 32mm case size and diamond bezel, this watch would be excellent on the wrist of a lady. This particular example is fresh to market and comes from a descendent of the original owner.
