The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The case is in good condition with light scratches throughout and has a light patina and has been refinished. The case is full and sharp. The lugs at 1 and 5 o'clock each have a small nick to their tops. The numbers are crisp between the lugs. The hallmarks are crisp to the back of the 1 and 11 o'clock hour markers. The back of the lugs have light signs of wear from the spring bars. The case back is in good condition with light wear and an engraving that reads, "NICK, WITH ALL THANKS AND LOVE FROM ALL THE REEDS." The inside of the case back is stamped '16000' and has watchmaker's marks. The crown and bezel are in good condition. The crown is a later service replacement. The dial is in good condition and appears to be original. The lume plot at 10 o'clock is indented and the plot at 11 o'clock is almost completely missing. The hands are later replacements. The crystal is a later replacement. The date wheel is slightly yellowed and the quick-set date function is working at the time of cataloguing. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
