The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The case is in good condition with normal signs of wear and has been polished. The numbers are visible between the lugs. The backs of the lugs show evidence of a bracelet and the case back has been polished. The inside case back is stamped '1600' and 'IV.69.,' and has watchmaker's marks. The dial shows some signs of age and appears to be original. The lume plots have darkened and the plot at 1 o’clock has deteriorated and the plot at 10 o’clock has been lost, but is next to it on the dial. There is some loss of varnish to the dial near 3 and 8 o’clock. The hands have been relumed. The date changes as the hands pass midnight. The crown is tight when winding and needs a service to work smoothly. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
