Lot Essay
The present watch is an extremely attractive example of the popular Submariner reference 5512/5513 “pointed crown guards” featuring the much sought-after "four-line” dial whereby the gilt depth rating and “SUBMARINER” and silver “SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED” are split across four lines of text. The dial also includes the “underline” – a relict used by Rolex to assure the right printing of the dial’s writing. A highly attractive opportunity for the Rolex vintage collector!
