Lot Essay
Rolex introduced the revolutionary reference 16760, GMT-Master II, in 1983. This model featured the new caliber 3085 movement which allowed the independent adjustment of the hour hand from the GMT hand, enabling the instantaneous setting of the second time. Henceforth, the rotating bezel could be used to calculate a third time zone if required. The 16760 is the first GMT to be produced exclusively with a sapphire crystal. Collectors have nicknamed this reference the, "Fat Lady," because Rolex made the cases and crown guards thicker for this particular reference. This example is offered as complete and is in honest condition, making it a trophy for any collector.
