Lot Essay

Preserved in excellent overall condition, this rare and elegant pendant Twenty Dollar coin watch is confirmed by the archives of Vacheron Constantin as having been manufactured in 1970.

Hinged within a United States of America Twenty Dollar coin, the front with profile of Liberty dated 1904, the reverse with the bald eagle, opened by pressing a concealed button in the milled band.

Vacheron Constantin specially created their first movement made to fit into a coin in 1927 and then in their bicentennial year of 1955, the exceptionally thin caliber 1003 was launched, with a diameter of 20.8 mm and depth of 1.64 mm it is the world’s thinnest hand-wound movement.
