ABOUT THE WINE
Chateau Montelena Winery was constructed with stone walls, rather than the wood walls common at the time of its construction. These three to twelve foot thick stone walls provide natural insulation from temperature fluctuation, further aided by the fact that the winery is built into a hillside. The varied soil and topography of the Montelena wine contributes to layers of complex flavors and the aromatic, rich, and full-bodied nature of their Cabernet Sauvignon.
