ABOUT THE WINE
Located in the Mayacamas Mountains, the 127 year old Mayacamas Vineyards has survived prohibition, two world wars, and the infamous San Francisco earthquake of 1906. Situated on Mount Veeder, a volcanic peak, the winery is privy to soils of exceptional complexity and double the annual rainfall of vineyards on the Napa Valley floor. Mayacamas Vineyards is named in honor of the land’s original owners, the Native Americans of the Wappo Tribe. Mayacamas Vineyards was cemented as a Napa Valley staple at the famous Judgment of Paris, where Mayacamas placed 7th in the first tasting, 2nd in the second tasting, beating all competing french wines, and third in the third tasting. Mayacamas continues to produce intense, balanced wines under the ownership of former Screaming Eagle partner Charles Banks.
