ABOUT THE WHISKEY
The Karuizawa distillery is a legend to the whisky world. First opened in 1955 in Miyota, right next to the active volcano Mount Asama, the distillery housed only four small stills and imported Golden Promise Barley from Scotland. Unfortunately, in 2001, the distillery halted production, which makes Karuizawa Whiskys quite rare.

Noah's Pick
This bottle forms the backbone of a fine selection of Japanese whisky in this auction – our first that’s offered quality Japanese single malts. Karuizawa holds cult status as a now a Japanese “silent still”. The distillery closed in 2001 and bottles of this statues are hard to acquire.
