ABOUT THE WINE
This Bordeaux located within the Pomerol appellation has a long history. La Conseillante comes from the iron merchant who owned the land in 1734. Later, the estate was acquired by Louis Nicolas in 1871. Unfortunately, a couple years later there was a Phylloxera blight and his land was ruined. He was able to overcom ethis challenge by being one of the pioneers of carbon disulphide, which aided the vines. The wines remain unclassified with 80% of the land devoted to Merlot and 20% to Cabernet Franc.
