ABOUT THE WINECheval Blanc is on the plateau terrace close to Pomerol’s finest vineyards, however as the soils contain more sand in their clay so Cabernet Franc dominates the planting ratio by 2/3rds to that of Merlot. Consequently, Cheval Blanc produces the most famous Cabernet Franc-based wine in the world, the best examples of which can survive for half a century or more.
Per’s Pick 1990 was a very good vintage for Bordeaux, both on the right and left bank. The Cheval Blanc 1990 is arguably the wine in St Emilion for this vintage, right it is drinking really well and will continue to shine for years to come.
