ABOUT THE WINE
This is one of Italy's 'Super Tuscans' that was founded in 1981. Many consider the Bolgheri region, within the greater region of Maremma, itio be the most fascinating wine region of Italy. Though this winery may not be one of the oldest wineries in the area, it has become one of the most sought after. Though it shares some similarities with Bordeaux its unique terroir with volcanic soil and its proximity to the sea pave way to a wine that is truly unique. It is not far from other famous Italian wines like Sassicaia. Ornellaia is a seamless blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, all aged in barriques.
