Lot Essay

The vase to the left of the catalogue photograph is painted in the 'Broth' pattern using blue, orange and purple colors. The broth pattern is named after its similarities to the cooled fat on top of the broth. This was an adaption of a John Butler design produced at Wilkinson’s when Cliff was training.
