The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The work has not been examined outside of its artist's frame. Minor wear, minute losses and accretions, tiny indentations, and faint transfer marks are to the artist's frame. A tiny fibrous accretion is to the impasto peak above the sitter's proper right eye. Pinpoint accretions are infrequent. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
