The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
First:
-cover with two star cracks to the center
-chips and nicks to edges and raised decorations
Second:
-short crack to the glaze on the base
-surface scratches and abrasion
Third:
-cover with chips and frits to top edge
-cover with a few small burst glaze bubbles
-box with chip to mouth rim
Fourth:
-cover with two hairline cracks, both with associated chips and restorations
-box with a hairline crack to mouth rim
-box with chips and kiln grit adhesions to foot
-box with residue of ink to the interior
-both with extensive surface wear
