The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
First cup:
- two chips to mouth rim, one with associated hairline crack
- nick and frit to the foot rim
First saucer:
- chip to the mouth rim
- burst glaze bubbles and small glaze gaps
Faceted cup:
- small chips and fritting to mouth rim
- a few small glaze gaps
- minute fritting to the foot rim
Bowl:
- two chips and polishing to mouth rim
- several chips near underneath the mouth rim on the exterior
- glaze gaps to the base
- a short firing crack and chip to foot rim
- rubbing to gilding, surface scratches and abrasion
