The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
With some minor variation in height and diameter; With light surface wear, scattered fritting, and small chips throughout; Some minor chips to the base rims; The jar labeled INPERIAAL with significant chipping to approx. half of the rim; The jar labeled TONKA also with a large v-shaped chip to the rim, approx. 1 in.; Cracks to rims not visible when covers are placed; The jar labeled W:SNUIF with a hairline crack to rim, approx. 11⁄2 in. long and with a chip to foot rim; The jar labeled MARTENIER with some large stained glaze lines (do not appear to go through); All with some wear to shoulder where covers rest; The brass covers with various areas of tarnish and verdigris, as well as some bends to edges, covers do not necessarily fit snugly on jars; The jar labeled INPERIAAL, MARTENIER, and W:SNUIF with printed Ann and Gordon Getty Collection labels inscribed 1991-140, 1991-141, and 1991-142 in black ink, respectively.
