PARKINSON, Thomas. Flower Painting made easy, being a Collection of correct Outlines after Nature ... whereby Persons wholly unacquainted with Drawing may by the assistance of this work make beautiful imitations of nature. London: Robert Sayer at the Golden Buck, [c.1751-1766].

Rare work on flower painting, one of the first English books aimed at amateur botanical artists. The work was issued in 12 parts each with six plates, most with the first plate of each part bearing a part number and imprint. This is the issue with plate 14 showing a "Single Anemone." See Henrey 1200.

Quarto (235 x 182mm). Hand-colored engraved title and 72 hand-colored engraved plates (pl. 61 with marginal repair, occasional dust-soiling). Contemporary red calf gilt (boards detached, text block cracked).
