The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The one depicting an African prince is 1 in. taller. Both on later detached stepped bases. The giltwood bases also later. The reverse of both with some old inactive worm damage; not extensive. The cup section of the board with the prince is later reinforced on reverse. The same board with a long vertical construction cracks running from the head of the prince to his mid torso; not extensive. On the other board a small section of the smaller camel's head is reattached from the back with an associated small loss. Both boards with some small chips and losses to the edges. Both with some small losses and surface scratches to the decoration. Small scattered dents, nicks and abrasions. Both with scattered inpainting and restorations throughout and appear to have a stabilizing clear varnish. In good, restored overall condition, ready to place.
