Oval with rounded sides, the cover inset with a slightly domed orange agate panel with brown inclusions, within a plain gold border enamelled with a turquoise blue zig-zag band, dark blue enamelled hinge and wavy thumbpiece, the sable gold sides and base chased with stylized palmettes, lotus, flowerheads and scrolls enamelled in translucent green and red and opaque dark blue, white and turquoise blue, the base centred with a large acanthus bud within a red scalloped border, marked in base: 2nd standard in use from 1797 and maker; on flange: 2nd standard in use from 1797, maker and warranty 1809-1819
