Circular, the black glass body set on the cover with a micromosaic depicting to seated dogs, a spaniel and a Lagotto Romagnolo, and signed bottom left AGUATTI, within polished gold mount, marked on flange with two unidentified marks

Antonio Aguatti (d. 1826) was a famous micromosaic artist active in Rome, associated with the Vatican workshops.
The spaniel on the left is one of Aguatti's favorite models, which he combines here with the Romagna water dog in a composition that combines tesserae of different sizes and tones typical of the Aguatti style.

Antonio Aguatti (? - 1826) était un célèbre micromosaïste actif sur la place d'Espagne à Rome, associé aux ateliers du Vatican.
L’épagneul qui figure à gauche est un des modèles favoris d’Aguatti, qu’il associe ici avec le chien d’eau romagnol dans une composition qui marie des tesselles de tailles et de tons différents caractéristiques de son style.
