The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This kilim displays alternating rows of lozenges, plain stripes and stripes with a repeated ‘Z’ motif. The colours are well saturated and balanced throughout. There are localised small repairs to the kilim. The largest areas affect one corner measuring approximately 9 x 6cm. at its widest points which is slightly darker in tone, and an area in the brown stripe towards the central section of the field measuring approx. 23 x 3cm. but this is not immediately visible and is well colour-matched. There are further small repairs and reweaves to the carpet, mainly to one edge. There is a small hole to one of the brown crosses in the centre of the field, this measures only 2cm. approx.. The kilim has localised small stains mainly to the edges that may improve following a professional clean. The most notable stains affect the edge of a red stripe at the centre of the field and the largest measures approx.. 8 x 4cm. These areas appear to have faded the kilim. The selvages are secure. There is a short 5cm. section at one end that is missing a few rows of knots and which is in need of securing otherwise both ends are complete with short fringes.
