Lot Essay

La fondation tissée en marron foncé uni et composée d'un seul panneau est ornée de rangées de motifs inversés en corne de bélier, ainsi que de rangées décalées d'hexagones étagés en coton blanc. La corne de bélier, ou dessin de Kotchak, est fréquemment utilisée le long de la route de la soie depuis l'Azerbaïdjan, le Turkménistan et le Turkestan oriental et symbolise traditionnellement la virilité et la force des hommes. L'exécution habile de la broderie et les grandes proportions suggèrent que l'article aurait été fabriqué comme une housse de siège pour les cérémonies de mariage ou autres cérémonies importantes.
