The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Watercolour and black chalk (recto); watercolour, black chalk and sanguine on paper (verso). The reverse of the sheet is hinged along the upper corners to the support. The lower left corner has been skilfully filled-in with Japan paper. The upper edge is uneven. Some mat and light-staining with some discolouration and a few spots of foxing in places. Two or three small skilfully repaired tears in places in the lower edge. Five or six vertical flattened folds (as visible in the illustration). The medium is strong throughout.

Aquarelle et pierre noire (recto); aquarelle, pierre noire et sanguine sur papier (verso). Le revers de la feuille est maintenu par des charnières sur les coins supérieurs à un support. Le coin inférieur gauche a été comblé avec soin avec du papier Japon. Le bord supérieur est irrégulier. Brunissement de la feuille dû au montage et insolation et décoloration de la feuille associée à quelques rares piqûres par endroits. Deux ou trois déchirures réparées avec soin par endroits sur le bord gauche. Cinq ou six pliures aplaties (visibles sur l'illustration). Le medium est vif sur l'ensemble de la composition.
