The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
There are the inevitable minor scratches, scuffs and abrasions overall. Old repaired breaks throughout. Chairs with springing. There is evidence of historic, apparently inactive woodworm. Some roundels apparently replaced. Repaired breaks to arms. Replacements to shaped cross splats in chair backs.
Armchair A: With old repaired breaks to both arms at joins at armrest and armrest supports.
Armchair B: With old badly repaired break to top of left stile at join with cresting rail and armrest with subsequent lose as visible in catalogue illustration and with old repaired break at join with back left leg. Left armrest with old repaired break at armrest support. Old repair at join at right armrest and armrest support as visible in catalogue. Large chips to moldings of legs. With loss to back left foot. Tops of front legs appear to have repairs adjoin with front seat rail.
Chair C: Old repaired breaks to tops of front legs which are loose and with subsequent losses to moldings of legs.
Chair D: In fair condition.
Chair E: Small loss to edge of roundel to top left stile. Top left section of X-from splat replaced. Later corner blocks.
Chair F: Two inch loss to moulding at top of front right leg.
