The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This pedestal desk is in 'country house' condition. There are the inevitable minor scratches, scuffs, abrasions, shrinkage, knocks, chips and losses overall consistent with age and use. There are a number of minor indentations to the leather writing surface. There are a few minor losses and replacements to the banded top. There are minor losses to the cockbeading and veneers to the front, back and sides. The patina is sun bleached in places, in particular to the right side and back. There is a splice to the center edge of the right side. The right handle to the center drawer has been replaced. There is wear to the plinth.
