The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
All with age-related surface wear including rubbing and minor losses to the enamels. Plates of four different shapes.
Sixteen soup plates: All with small scattered rim chips; one dish with a hairline crack (approx. 7cm. long) and chip to the rim with associated short hairline crack.
Thirty-nine dishes: nineteen with minor chips and fritting to rims; fifteen with hairline cracks, some with touch-up; five with extensive old restoration.
Four deep serving plates: One with a hairline crack (approx. 10 cm.) long; two with small chips to the foot rims.
Oval-shaped serving platter: General surface wear and flaking to the enamels.
Seven circular serving platters: Two smaller platter in overall fairly good condition; one large and one smaller platter with hairline cracks; another large and small platter each with a rim chip, one re-attached; one large plate appears to be in good overall condition
Eight oblong serving platters: one very large platter with extensive restoration, the other very large platter with a short hairline crack to the mouth rim; one smaller platter (29 cm. wide) with a hairline crack to the rim; the other two of similar size with minor scattered rim chips; the three smallest with general wear.
Three salts: one with restoration to the top; one with a hairline crack extending from a chip to the foot; one appears in fairly good condition
Small tureen-shaped bowl and cover: shallow chips to the finial of the cover
Sauce boat: some fritting and scattered glaze chips, particularly to the handle.
Lidded jug: Fritting and glaze chip to the handle; hairline crack to the joint of the handle; cover with fritting and cracks to the interior
Three tureens: the circular tureen with minor fritting and very shallow chips to the cover, one handle with a short hairline crack; two similar shaped tureen and covers: one with fritting to the handles, the cover with extensive restoration including overpainting; the other tureen with extensive restoration and fritting to the handles, the cover appears to be in fairly good condition.
