The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
All pieces with age-related surface wear including scratches, rubbing and minor losses to the enamels. The three circular serving plates and four of the small plates have a different gilt decoration to the border.
Soup dishes: Three in overall fairly good condition; five with restored rim chip(s); four with larger areas of restorations, including hairlines, some with visible touch-up.
Three serving plates: One with a very small chip and a hairline crack extending from the mouth rim (approx. 3.5 cm. long). All three with inventory numbers written in red colours to the base.
Five salt-cellars: Apart from short firing cracks, these appears to be in good overall condition.
Twenty-six dishes: Four dishes appears to be in fairly good overall condition; twenty dishes with old restorations and touch-ups to the rims; one dish with a hairline crack covering approx. 1/3 of the dish and restored rim chips. Some dishes with inventory numbers in red colour to the base.
Oblong serving platters: One broken into several pieces and reglued. All others appears to be in good overall condition.
Bowl: Very small nibbles and tiny nicks to the mouth rim.
The tureen: The cover has restoration to the area around the finial, with associated old extensive overpainting to the interior.
The condiment pot and spoon: The finial of the cover with a very shallow chip; the spoon has some fritting to the handle.
