The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
The baluster vases:
Generally in good decorative condition overall.
One vase has a wide band of discolouration around the centre of the vase, it is possible there is some restoration in this area, especially to one crayfish, although it is not clear.
The second vase with a similar, smaller area of discolouration to the body on one side.
There are firing cracks to the legs and antennae of the crayfish on both vases, and some dirt marks around the bases.
Both covers with a little dust build-up. One with a firing flaw to the inner rim.
The bottle vases: 64 cm and 56 cm high
Both in good condition overall.
Both with firing cracks to the antennae of the crayfish and both with dirt marks around the lower body. One vase has some slight openings in the clay laterally around the body that would have been there during the firing.
