The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This impressive suite is in good overall condition.
The frames have been cleaned and repolished at some time and the bresent finish is consistent and bright overall.
The toprails appear to have been previously further mounted, marks from these mounts are only visible on very close inspection.
The gilding is worn showing through to the underlying preparation layers in places and the eagles' beaks have all lost their respective tips and are a little rounded off. The arm slightly loose to one fauteil where the eagle support is split through.
The black horse-hair coverings are in relatively good condition and good condition with little marking or wear from use and are likely to be relatively recent. There are some slight scuffs to the seat of the sofa.
There are minor chips, cracks, losses and old repairs to the veneers throughout as to be expected but these are generally not obvious.
Many of the leg joints have been reglued/repaired at the joint with the seatrails throughout.
Overall minor marks, scratches, knocks and wear consistent with age and use.
This suite of seat furniture is structurally sound and in good usable overall condition.
