A CARVED JADE ARCHAISTIC FRAGMENT AND TWO PALE GREYISH-GREEN JADE BEADS
CHINA, POSSIBLY WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY OR LATER
The white and russet jade fragment carved on one side with a partial taotie mask, the reverse with two channels and bull-nose perforations; one bead of tapering oblong shape carved with scrolls, the pale grey-green stone with some opaque alteration; the other bead rectangular and carved on both sides with C-scrolls, the stone of pale grey-green color
1 ¾, 1 7/8 and 2 1/8 in. (4.5, 4.7 and 5.6 cm.) long
