The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Each have expected inherent imperfections in the stone and light surface abrasion
- the first: there are a few chips to edges and minor surface chips. Some surface chips are associated with natural fissures
- the second: one side with a large surface chip; chips and nicks to edges
- the third: small area of loss to one edge and small chips and nicks to edges. There are areas of alternations and encrustations to the stone. There are lines around the perimeter of one side of the ax, where a smaller ax may have rested.
