A WHITE AND RUSSET JADE CICADA PENDANT
CHINA, MING-QING DYNASTY (1368-1911)
The pendant carved as a cicade in the Han-style with detailed wings and body, the white stone with russet veins; together with a possibly unfinished jade bead, possiby Neolithic period, the solid cylinder flared at one end and carved with a ridge, the stone of greyish olive-green tone with brown inclusions
The pendant 1 3/8 in. (3.5 cm.) long; the carving 1 ¾ in. (4.7 cm.) high
